"The photos are priceless and brought a tear to my eye looking back at how small and beautiful our son was, thank you so much!"

Newborn Photography

You only get one chance … A once in a lifetime opportunity…

Newborn photography is a particular passion for me. All photographs with our loved ones are precious but there is something unique about the early days with your newborn baby – and only a short window in which to capture them. Captivating photographs, carefully composed and exquisitely lit, can preserve those moments forever.

As a mother of two I cherish all of our family photographs; but most of all, the ones we had taken just after each of our children was born. I knew even then how much they would mean to me – but could never have anticipated how much our kids would later love them too!

I am professionally trained to handle and pose newborn babies safely and with the utmost care. My aim during the shoot is for you to have a wonderful experience, and to tailor everything to what suits your baby best – creating timeless images that you will treasure for a lifetime.

Taking portraits is an honour and I consider it my greatest achievement when I’m told that a photograph has truly captured someone’s character. What inspires me is making people feel and look wonderful and I take the time to understand what is important to you so that I can take photographs that beautifully and naturally reflect who you are.

My photography has been featured in a variety of international publications such as Marie Claire, Travel + Leisure Magazine and I was Finalist for Travel Photographer of the Year.

I am a member of the Society for Wedding and Portrait Photographers as well as the Newborn Art Academy. I also run all the photography courses for the Landmark Arts Centre in Teddington.

Please do give me a call or request a callback to find out more – I’d love to hear from you.

FAQs

The most important thing is that you and your baby have an intimate, enjoyable and relaxing experience while we capture a set of enchanting images.

When is the ideal timing for newborn photographs?

I generally take newborn photographs 7 to 14 days after the baby is born. It’s important to book well in advance, so I always recommend you get in touch as soon as you know your due date. We will make a provisional booking based on that date and confirm details once your baby is born.

Where is your studio?

My home studio is in Teddington, between Twickenham and Kingston-upon-Thames. It is conveniently located for public transport and there is parking directly outside.

How long does the session last?

Your baby's portrait session will be leisurely and can take 3–4 hours; during which we will take a wide selection of portraits with a variety of poses and expressions. We usually start at 9.30am so there is plenty of time to intersperse taking photographs with baby-feeding sessions. Sit back and watch it all unfold as I spoil you and take beautiful photographs of you and your baby.

How do I book?

Just call me directly to discuss and book your session; or alternatively, you can send me an enquiry form with your due date and I’ll come straight back to you. We’ll arrange a pre-session consultation so we can discuss what you are looking for, your artistic preferences and what works best for you.

What do I bring to the newborn session?

Most of the images are taken with the baby naked and posed discreetly, or perhaps in a favourite wrap of your choice. I am also happy to include any special items you may have such as cuddly toys or cosy blankets. The studio will be very warm to ensure your baby’s comfort, so you may wish to dress accordingly! I can advise on what clothing would be suitable to wear on the day.

How much does it cost / What can I buy at the ordering session?

I offer a range of prices and packages and would be delighted to discuss what you’re looking for and provide details. Please get in touch anytime for more information.

Your photographs will be available in all formats, from archival quality prints to canvases, frames, photo books and also digital copies, so you can buy whatever you would treasure most.

My aim is to offer a range of artwork with the highest standards of image quality and character; from single photographic archival quality prints starting at £49, to large Framed Artworks costing up to £800 – and everything in between. I offer Fine Art Canvases, Framed and Unframed Art, luxury Heirloom Albums of various sizes, as well as collections of fully retouched images on USB with copyright permission for printing – perfect for creating gifts for friends and family.

I also offer special packages on the day of the viewing and am always happy to explore ways to provide your ideal combination.

Can I include my family in the session?

Absolutely – this is a special time for all of you and I always love to include both parents and any other children you have.

When will we see the images?

We’ll schedule a date for you to see the portraits about one week after the session. I’ll show you a gallery of approximately 24 beautiful images and that’s when you’ll choose and order your photographs.
